Hurricane Sandy

Trinity Place Shelter (TPS) thanks our supporters across the globe for the outpouring of kind, thoughtful inquiries about our safety and welfare in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. We are grateful that all of our residents and staff remain safe. The shelter is fortunate to have not experienced physical damage, or a disruption in electricity, Internet or phone service. In response to the storm, we have been and continue to facilitate special 24-hour staffed, full-scale operations. Shelter residents have enjoyed lots of great home-cooked meals, board games, dancing, movies & pumpkin carving!

You'd like to help? We'd love your help! Right now we need: new twin-sized sheets, new blankets & pillows, new white socks, batteries (all kinds), extension cords/power strips, juice, tupperware, gift cards (any amount) to local pharmacies (e.g. Walgreens, CVS, Duane Reade) to buy common supplies for residents such as aspirin, band-aids, cough medicine, etc. or gift cards (small amounts) to local stores (e.g. Starbucks, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's) to provide to residents. (Gift cards to Burlington Coat Factory or TJ Maxx would also be appreciated as we continue our efforts to provide residents with proper clothing for winter.) Locals can drop these items off at the shelter. Out-of-towners can mail them. Monetary donations are always welcome at trinityplaceshelter.org/donate
